Hyderabadi debutante, Niteesh Kondiparthi’s EP – Not Worth It, is a wavy sonic amalgamation of everything life has thrown at him till date; from lost lovers & loneliness to foreboding fear and fathomable existence as his driving motifs, Niteesh has very artfully packed his 5 song release, at the heart of which we learn, that any of these shortcomings that we submit to, are just not worth it.
The song-writer centric compositions are filled with rather evocative chord movements, which have been wonderfully backed by his vocal capacity & the rest of the band/production, just adding to emotional taste. One gets to see a good bunch of musically inspiring elements through the EP, ingrained from the likes of jazz & funk to blues & rock, or as Niteesh claims – “pop prog”.
Our favorite track from the EP is Kala Chedire – mellifluous Telugu lyrics, and silvery violin shreds, over the soft, yet ponderous backing composition of the song (add meaning of the title here) – none like other, for the first time in a EP.
